It was named after the steppes that are located in the southeast of Xilinggral Meng, which is located in Inner Mongolia.

Crossing local animals with Akhal-Teke, Sanhe, Kabarda, Russian Don and the Mongolian horse created a horse that was not only light but also quick, with a robust constitution and great conformation.
